Masako, an award winning emerging artist from Tokyo, has created a “new everyday life” that combines what we see in our daily lives along with fragments of the images that flood our smartphones and televisions. She expresses how important it is to distinguish other people’s experiences from our own. In turn, her work begs you to consider the nature of experience through art.
As a kid, Masako first dreamed of being an astronaut exploring new undiscovered worlds. As a teen, Stanley Kubrick and David Lynch were both powerful influences on her as she experimented with expressing her own emotions and experiences through art. While she enjoys painting on a flat surface, she continues to explore ways to express and share the experience of life with the audience.
